Description

when launching gufw it will not open the gui for this. when attempting to call it from terminal i get the following errors...

The gufw runs without problems here too. Are you sure you have a updated, clean install of Kali running, because no problems could be found regarding gufw here.

The problem is likely that "sudo gufw" does not work as you expect it under Wayland (which is used by the default "GNOME" session). You can try a session basde on Xorg instead by selecting "GNOME with Xorg" at the login screen (click on the cogs icon after having typed the login).

I'm not sure how you are supposed to run graphical applications as root in your Wayland user session. Maybe some variables need to be shared. Try again with "sudo -E gufw" maybe?
