BLACK SCREEM AFTER UPGRADE AND REBOOT
My ASUS X550CC notebook have two video card intel hd graphic 400(intergrated) and nvidia geforce 720m(switchable).Under Windows10,it works well.But under kali linux 5.4,after update and upgrade,the screem black after reboot.

Steps To Reproduce

Install kali linux 5.4,after apt-get update and apt-get upgrade,the screem will be black after reboot.

Try connecting to an external display through DP or HDMI
If it works, issue a sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y and reboot

--OR

After your boot sequence is complete, try a tty2 session by hitting Ctrl + Alt + f2
Provide your username and password
Issue another sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
Reboot when done

Quick question: What's your current display manager? Gnome/XFCE/Mate/KDE?

This happened me when installed Gnome. Ctrl+Alt + f2 worked for me.
