Summary0007567: Kali i3wm Graphical Bugs
Description

When switching the default window manager for i3 (tested from Gnome, KDE and XFCE), the interface has glitches and graphical bugs that render many applications unusable. Anything requiring a drop down list or a dynamic items display with a highlight is bugged and unreadable

Steps To Reproduce
  • Install Kali bare metal
  • Install i3
  • Right click on terminal: the drop down menu is unreadable
  • Start wireshark: packets are unreadable
Additional Information

Tested on Dell XPS 13 7390, intel UHD 620, kali versions 2021.4/a and weekly versions from 2022

Hello, and sorry for the late reply!

I don't think there's much we can do here, in Kali we don't really change or customize i3, we just get it "as is" from Debian, as far as I know.

Therefore you might check either:

If your issue was not already reported, you might want to report it on GitHub then, that's your best bet to see it fixed.
