Latest version of firmware -realtek 20240909-2 should be hitting kali-rolling in a few hours. Please update your system, make sure this new version gets installed, then tell us if, by chance, it fixes the issue. Thanks!

I have the same problem with the AXML, if I don't update it, it works no problem... Except for it shows my wireless adapter, it just freezes whenever I try to use it

I did a quick check, it seems that for MT7921u, the two firmware files are mediatek/WIFI_MT7961_patch_mcu_1_2_hdr.bin and mediatek/WIFI_RAM_CODE_MT7961_1.bin.

As we can see in upstream repo https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/ those two files got updated on 2024-11-12. You can do a git checkout and check the history of those files. Maybe this new version fixes the issue?

Now, all we can do is wait for a new version Debian package firmware-nonfree to be released, it will include this new version. Once a new version is out in Debian, it should reach Kali after a few days.
