| Summary | 0009217: Gnome Shell - Something went wrong X_X | ||||
| Description | On a fresh installation of Kali with GNOME Shell as the primary environment, after running sudo apt update & sudo apt upgrade, an error appears ("Something went wrong") and remains on the screen. It seems that the gdm3 service stops, and some GNOME Shell package is not installed. | ||||
|
Did you only run sudo apt upgrade? We recommend running sudo apt full-upgrade which is found in the docs at https://www.kali.org/docs/general-use/updating-kali/ so this is expected behaviour when not every package is updated correctly |
